Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-22
Play Sabotage is a free, independently-run multiplayer board game. These terms are short on purpose — this is a hobby project, not a company with a legal department.
Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use Play Sabotage. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to an online service without a parent or guardian (this is true in some EU countries, generally 16), you must meet that requirement or have a parent/guardian's permission instead.
The service
- Play Sabotage is free to play. There are no purchases, subscriptions, or paid features today.
- This is a small, self-hosted project run on free/low-cost infrastructure. We do our best to keep it up, but we don't guarantee uptime, and the service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
- Game rooms are temporary — an inactive room and its state are automatically deleted after 3 hours, and a finished game's state isn't retained beyond that either.
Accounts
- You can play entirely as a guest with no account.
- If you register, you're responsible for keeping your username and password. Registration doesn't collect an email address, which means there is currently no way to reset a forgotten password — if you lose your credentials, you'll need to register a new account.
- Don't impersonate another player or use a name intended to harass or deceive others. Names and chat messages are filtered for a small set of unsafe characters, but you're still responsible for what you send.
Acceptable use
Play fair and don't ruin it for others. Specifically, don't:
- Use bots, scripts, or a modified client to gain an unfair advantage or disrupt other players' games.
- Attempt to overload, exploit, or attack the server or its infrastructure.
- Harass, threaten, or send abusive content to other players via chat or player names.
- Use the service for anything illegal where you live.
We reserve the right to disconnect a player, close a room, or suspend an account that violates these terms, without notice.
No competitive guarantees
Play Sabotage currently relays player moves between clients without full server-side validation of every rule. It's built for casual play with friends, not as a cheat-proof competitive platform — please don't rely on it for anything with real stakes attached.
Changes
We may update these terms as the game changes. Continuing to use Play Sabotage after an update means you accept the new terms. Material changes will update the date above.
